Three years ago, Third Wave Digital worked with Third Army/U.S. Army Central (ARCENT) to create an interactive trade show exhibit to engage and educate visitors about ARCENT and its history. At that time, ARCENT was under the command of Vincent K. Brooks. When General Brooks was selected to lead U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC), he once again tapped Third Wave Digital to provide an interactive kiosk for his new command.
The goal of the project was to provide visitors to Fort Shafter in Honolulu, Hawaii with an engaging and educational overview of the history of U.S. Forces in the Pacific region as well as its mission and objectives.
USARPAC now has a new resource for marketing and outreach to the public. The interactive timeline includes highlights of little known aspects of U.S. Army history such as the impact of African Americans in the Spanish American War, the contribution of women in homeland defense after the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the critical role Nisei (people Japanese descent) played in the Army during World War II.
