Third Wave Digital Helps Augusta Technical College put their best foot forward with a new website!

Augusta Technical College, a member of the Technical College System of Georgia selected Third Wave Digital as their vendor of choice for a full design of their website.  The College has multiple campuses and serves a broad range of users, from traditional students to the community to non-traditional students. For this reason, it was paramount that the website be easily consumed on mobile, easy to navigate and visually appealing. The result: the completely redesigned and redeveloped AugustaTech.edu.

The website development encompassed several phases where staff at Augusta Technical College was intimately involved: Design Research, Design Execution, Information Architecture and Content Development.  Third Wave Digital and the Augusta Technical Team poured over multiple examples of modern design and together developed concepts for the home and interior pages that would best suit the clients' needs.

The homepage boasts an eye-catching video showcasing Augusta Techs staff, students and location- overlaid over the video are icons for commonly used content. The site header needed to do double duty to be aesthetically pleasing and house lots of information. It includes main menu items, audience links, and a handy search icon that contains a search dropdown as well as more quick links. Also present on the homepage are parallax images, news and press articles and calendar events.

Third Wave not only designed a responsive website that is easy to consume by its users but the administrators of the website benefit from the TWD.CMS Content Management system. Administrators can quickly and easily make text and media changes to the home or interior pages and add new events to the campus calendar. More advanced functions include the ability to add or rename pages, and add additional administrators and assign them to specific sections of the site. Administrators can also take advantage of the advanced metadata entry options included in all pages. Third Wave also equipped the site with a directory tool to manage faculty and staff information.

The Content management system came in handy with the migration of over 200 pages.  The site information architecture was fully restructured, and most pages rewritten and formatted. Great care was taken during site population to ensure that the site met the most current ADA standards- WCAG 2.0 AA.
