Helms Career Institute spreads Goodwill mission, education opportunities online with new website
Posted on Jan 18, 2012
Helms Career Institute, a division of Goodwill Industries, was established with the sole focus of creating an educational model that provides training in culinary arts, medical/health, automotive technology, construction, and other occupational areas. This unique educational program needed a web presence that allowed Helms Career Institute to attract future students, educate contributors and engage the community. To accomplish this goal they turned to Third Wave Digital, a Macon, Georgia-based website design firm with a growing portfolio of higher education sites.
Now, http://www.helms.edu/ makes it easy for prospective and current students, faculty, staff, parents and community members to find out all that Helms Career Institute has to offer with the click of a button.
To highlight Helms Career Institute, Third Wave Digital incorporated a user-friendly interactive navigation with highly organized information aimed at giving site visitors an easy way to learn about the college. From in-depth information about programs, to tuition costs, locations, photo galleries and online applications, http://www.helms.edu/ is a higher education website designed to engage prospective students.
“We are very pleased with both the visual impact and ease of navigation in our new Helms.edu website. It is a great asset to our newly accredited career institute,” Susan Everitt, Director of Communications for Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia said.
Goodwill Industries has always preferred a hands-on and personal approach to working with the community therefore it was especially important to incorporate a direct line of communication on the website between Helms and its users. Http://www.helms.edu/ is equipped with several contact forms that allow users to quickly and easy apply to Helms, request information or request a tour of either the Macon or Augusta campus.
In addition to the main user website, http://www.helms.edu/ also comes equipped with a full back-end that allows Helms’ administrators to easily add or edit the website’s content and images, as well as create new pages as the programs continue to grow. This proprietary content management system from Third Wave Digital allows Helms Career Institute to grow their web presence long after the site’s launch. Third Wave Digital also provides full hosting and support services for http://www.helms.edu/.
